Michael Bay gets lazy and rips off his own movie

Transformers 3 hit cinema screens a few weeks ago. Reviews have been unsurprisingly mixed although definitely more positive than for the second film in the giant robot fighting series. One sharp eyed viewer noticed something strange about a chase scene in Transformers 3. It bears a remarkable resemblance to a car chase in a previous Michael Bay movie 'The Island'. Why do you ask? Well because it is the same car chase as in the previous Michael Bay movie! The Island staring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson was released in 2005 and is a very decent, sci-fi action flick but it performed poorly at the box office by Bay's own high standards. For some reason (possibly budget constraints or the pressure to complete the movie in time for an early summer release) Bay decided to cut and paste a spectacular motorway car chase scene from The Island into Transformers 3 and CGI a couple of his big dancing robots in to fool people into thinking it is an entirely new clip. Well it's not! Check out the video below to see for yourself. It's funny stuff.
